Bad Bad Blogger!!!

Yes, I have been very very bad. I have done the biggest blogger no-no and not posted in forever. I apologize to all those who have checked in and noticed.

I don’t really have a good excuse. I did pick up my Ebay selling over the winter, and that just kind of took over. It seems spring rolls around, the sales slow down, and that is when I get the blogging bug again. Sorry to disappoint.

Get paid to blog, list of paid blogging websites

In case you missed this post at DoshDosh, I just have to give it a mention: A Definitive List of Paid Blogging-Websites. Of course the list starts out with the well known Payperpost and ReviewMe, but there are several on here I have not heard of and will be checking out soon.

I have officially moved!

I think I am finally here! It took a good long week of learning a lot of new things, figuring out how WP works, tweaking things here and there, but it is now done! I’m sure I will continue to tweak things here and there, but this blog is now functioning, and the old one on Blogger is now retired. :-)

Many thanks to Maki at DoshDosh and Daniel from The Wrong Advices for this awesome Prosense theme I’m using. Also, many thanks to Agentsully at  Life Learning Today for her many helpful articles on making the transition from Blogger to a self-hosted WP solution.  So what do you think? Please let me know if you see anything not working or any glaring mistakes!

Can you have a successful career blogging?

The New York Times recently ran this article: Can Blogs Become a Big Source of Jobs?

The article points out, that as blogs are becoming more and more popular, there is more demand for employees who can write or support them, from CEO’s on down.

“There’s almost an ecosystem of jobs that have emerged around blogs,” said Paul Forster, chief executive at Indeed.com, a job search engine with postings from more than 5,000 sources. “It’s an emerging area where there are many more opportunities related to the blog rather than being a dedicated blog writer.”

The move from Blogger to WP begins!

Please wish me lots of luck! I have been wanting to go the hosted route with Wordpress since the get go, but this here blog allowed me to get my feet wet, and I am now ready to make the move. Tomorrow is the big day! I am no techie, but the hubby has agreed to sit with me as I make the transfer and walk me through any rough patches. I am not anticipating much trouble, but am nervous just the same. So this is just a heads up, watch for big changes in the coming days!

Inspirational Blogging Earnings reported by other women Probloggers

When I discovered at the beginning of this year, that blogging was actually a viable income earning opportunity, I first came across the Problogger himself Darren Rowse. Next I came across John Chow. In searching online for other women who called themselves Probloggers, this information seemed harder to come by. Since then, I have found several popular female bloggers who attempt to earn an income via blogging, and I have many of them listed in my blog roll. Recently, a couple of them have posted their earnings, and in my eyes, they are DEFINITELY successful female Probloggers who are my inspiration! I hope they will inspire you too. :-)

Blogging tips from the Pros

I ran across this post today on Problogger, titled Lessons on Blogging. I think this is a great reference article for those bloggers like myself, who are just starting out.

Darren Rowse, who is the Problogger himself, references a post by John Wesley from Pick the Brain, titled 27 Lessons Learned on the Way to 3000 Visits a Day and 2200 RSS Subscribers. Darren also mentions one of his older archived posts titled 18 Lessons I’ve Learnt about Blogging.

Well here’s a little inspiration!

Paula Mooney just posted her list of Paula’s List of Blogger Salaries. Of course, it lists most of the big guns out there, but it proves that it can be done and done well.

Here’s a little more inspiration, I haven’t updated John Chow’s earnings since he posted his February report. He increased his earnings from $7011.05 in Feb, to $8545.25 in March and $11,702.66 in April. What’s interesting to watch here, is that he post’s exactly where his blogging income comes from each month, so you can see where he makes the most money. Very informative.

John Chow beats February earnings expectations!

John Chow has inspired many by his posts on his earnings since he monetized his popular blog last Septermber. His February earnings have been eagerly anticipated by many. Final tally: $7,011.05!!! Who would have thought that he would have more than doubled last month’s earnings? That is some serious dough. I truly appreciate his willingness to share not only his earnings, but a breakdown of where they come from, as well as his Making Money from a Blog series that share how he has gotten to where he is today.
